1960:
Gerald Ray began working at Sanders & Co. as an Investment Analyst.

1962: Gerald Ray managed the Zale Profit Sharing Trust and Zale Foundation while working as a Portfolio Manager for Zale Corporation in Dallas, TX. Ray developed the foundation of his large cap growth investment philosophy during this time period.

1977: Gerald Ray and Charles Gideon, former Portfolio Manager at Zale Corporation, founded a sole proprietorship named Gerald L. Ray Investment Advisors with the Zale Profit Sharing Trust and Zale Foundation accounts. In September, Gerald L. Ray Investment Advisors was incorporated to form Gerald L. Ray & Associates, Inc.

1986: The firm relocated to the Fountain Place, an internationally acclaimed award-winning designed building by I.M. Pei & Partners located in downtown Dallas. At the base of the green prism-shaped skyscraper lies one of the world’s most beautiful and complex water fountains.

2001: The firm was reorganized into Gerald L. Ray & Associates, Ltd.

2002: The firm celebrated its 25th year anniversary and new official logo. The Greek columned structure of the logo represents the firm’s investment philosophy. At Gerald L. Ray & Associates, Ltd., we believe that building a portfolio is like building a magnificent structure. It must have a solid foundation. When built on the right foundation, the potential for assets to grow in value over time significantly increases. This potential is, therefore, reflected by the increasing height of the columns on the Greek structure.

2004: Joseph H. Ray, Gerald Ray’s son, was named President of the firm. Gerald Ray remains intimately involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm as Chairman.

2009: Gerald L. Ray & Associates, Ltd. acquires the assets of Weisberg & Fields Inc., a Dallas based registered investment advisory firm that manages money for individuals and small institutions.
